Diary 1

March this year (2002) saw the band off to Holland for a short three-day stint, now the gigs were going great and all was well…. Until… the morning we woke up to find Kev our drummer and our roadie Warren had somehow broken the key in there hotel door!

No problem... we get the manager who speaks very little English, half an hour later and he’s still scratching his chin!" We will have to kick the door in" I say (ala the bill)" we’ve got a long drive and a ferry to catch" About this time we seemed to be getting through to the manager, who motions to us not to go near his door… he has as an idea. Now Kev is well known to… how shall we put this… have a very short fuse, if things are not going to plan, so he is not to happy when a ladder appears at the window. The plan seems simple enough, "throw your gear out of the window, and I will catch it" says the manager, Warren proceeds to obey instructions and hurls his not unsubstantial

holdhall out of the window, the manager (bless him) holds out his arms to catch it… and it being the second floor that they were on! Almost had his arms ripped out of their sockets, now we do not speak any Dutch but even we could understand him.

Meanwhile back at the top of the ladder, things are getting interesting, Warren has climbed out and is coming down, Kev though, is looking a little unsure of this " I’m scare of heights, there’s no way I’m coming down that ******* ladder". Now lads being lads Mark, the Bass player, sees this as too good an opportunity to miss, and runs off to get the camera. So Kev clambers gingerly out of the window,

Warren grabs hold of his leg to steady him, "****** off my leg!... the window frames moving "(not good as Kev is holding on to it ) anyway as Mark clicks happily away with his camera Kev manages to get down safe and sound, and we live to play another day. Next time we will tell you the tale about Mark (the water feature) Arnold!
